This study was designed to develop a mental development program that utilizes recreation for improving the self-efficacy and sociality of youth. In this study, the concepts of recreation and mental development programs to be applied are explored, the concepts of self-efficacy and sociality that are important to youth, and the related prior studies are examined. This program was set up in 10 sessions for each phase of self-discovery, other people s understanding, community consciousness, and behavior change, and was used to target self-efficacy and social factors in each session. Self-efficacy is organized so that three factors could be improved: self-confidence, self-regulating, and task performance. Sociality was organized so that five factors could be improved: activity, achievement, dominance, sociality and autonomy. This study is meaningful in that it was developed using recreation in mental development programs as a way for improving the self-efficacy and social skills of youth. This study will be the basis for research methods to improve self-efficacy and Sociality for future youth and follow-up studies will be needed to overcome the limitations of this study.
