This study is a case study of child-centered play therapy and parents consultation using emotion coaching for child in fourth grade of elementary school, which is mainly about lack of emotional regulation and sociality problem. For child, a total of 50 individual play therapy sessions were conducted once a week for 45 minutes, and followed by parent consultation sessions after play therapy, and total of 12 separate sessions for 50 minutes each. After the middle of the play therapy, emotion coaching was applied to conduct a consultation session. The major findings were as follows. First, through child-centered play therapy, a sense of trust, emotional stability and self-control between children and therapists were formed. Second, through emotion coaching, child s ability to recognize, express and control emotions has been improved. Third, Child has experienced improving communication skills and solving conflicts through pairing with his younger brother. Fourth, the mother was able to understand the child and recognize and improve her child s attitude. Fifth, through mother consultation using emotion coaching, she was able to understand children s emotions and help his emotional regulation. This case study suggests that play therapy and sibling pairing therapy have had a positive effect on children s emotional control and social improvement, and that parent consultation has been more actively involved through parent consultation using emotional coaching, contributing to positive changes in mother and child.
