The purpose of this study was to examine what international marriage immigrant women s experiences are in the process of music therapy activities which was performed as the part of public health medical project at E hospital in Seoul. For this purpose, the Focus Group Interview method was applied. The participants were 8 women who immigrated to Korea for international marriage, currently using the Multicultural Family Support Center located in K District. They participated in 12 music therapy sessions dealing with self - efficacy and depression reduction for four months. The questionnaire consists of two starting questions, five core questions, and one ending question. Data analysis was conducted by applying the analysis method suggested by Krueger and Casey(2015) after transcribing all GFI interviews. The results of the study are as follows. First, under the category of recognition of music therapy , two subcategories of burden and discomfort and expectation and curiosity’ were
derived in recognition before music therapy activities. In the experience of participating in music therapy activities, three categories of ‘psychological healing’, ‘social relationship formation’, and ‘artistic experience’ were derived. In the changes after participating in music therapy activities, three subcategories were found under the top category of ‘happy life’: ‘Adapting to life’, ‘life energy’, and ‘discovering happiness’. As a result of this study, it was found that international marriage immigrant women were accompanied by a change in everyday life for their happy life as well as the experience of healing through music activities.
