Objective: This study was conducted to examine the effects of early childhood teachers teaching efficacy and positive psychological capital on subjective career success by moderated mediating effect of growth mindset in the noncognitive element of early childhood teachers.
Methods: 245 early childhood teachers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, Gyeongbuk province were surveyed about their teacher efficacy, subjective career success, positive psychological capital, and growth mindset. The results were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and SPSS macro process 3.4 program. The mediating, modulating, and moderated mediating effects were analyzed.
Results: The results were as follows. First, early childhood teachers’ growth mindset showed significant positive correlation with teacher efficacy, subjective career success, positive psychological capital. Second, The results indicated that teacher efficacy predicted subjective career success not only directly, but also through positive psychological capital. In addition, Lastly, growth mindset relationship moderated the mediating effect toward positive psychological capital on the relationship between teacher efficacy and subjective career success; it also had a main effect on teacher efficacy toward subjective career success.
Conclusions: We discussed the theoretical and practical implications of the results and presented its limitations as well as suggestions for future study.
