This study was conducted to analyze the opinions of teachers in the field and to extract implications for the 5th and 6th grade elementary social studies curriculum books according to the 2015 revised curriculum. 343 elementary school teachers in Seoul participated in a total of 33 questionnaires and presented their opinions on the contents, appearance, and composition of the current textbook, and the contents, appearance, and composition of the current guidebook. As a result of the survey analysis, teachers who participated in the responses evaluated that the current social studies textbooks and guidebooks were generally satisfactory. In the case of social studies textbooks, satisfaction with the photographs and illustrations included, the content presentation method appropriate to the student level, and various corners was high. In the case of guidebooks, there were relatively many positive evaluations of the description of photographs or illustrations included with the mini textbook, teaching and learning materials including workbooks and evaluation papers, and electronic works contained in USB. On the other hand, in the case of book-type textbooks, there were relatively many critical opinions on the need to assign separate tasks outside of class hours, the degree of support for self-directed learning, and the effectiveness of characters.
