본 연구는 2020년 1월 우리나라에서 첫 확진자 발생으로 시작된 코로나-19를 경험하게 된 어린이집 원장들이 경험하는 달라진 어린이집 일상의 의미를 종합적으로 고찰해 보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 참여자는 B시 소재 어린이집을 운영하고 있는 원장 5명이다. 자료 수집을 위해 3회의 면담을 실시하고 자료를 분석 하였다. 자료 분석 방법은 Giorgi의 현상학적 방법으로 2개의 상위주제와 9개의 하위주제로 분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 코로나-19로 인해 달라진 일상 속 어린이집 원장들은 닫혀버린 어린이집, 휴원 연장과 긴급보육의 두 얼굴, 예산의 계획과 집행의 어려움, 마스크에 갇혀버린 일상, 지킬 수 없는 매뉴얼, 계속되는 신입생 적응기간 등의 홈 파인 공간을 경험하였다. 둘째, 코로나-19로 인해 달라진 일상 속 어린이집 원장들은 파인 홈 속에서 서서히 건강관리 책임자로서의 경계지대 및 보육철학, 보육과정 계획 및 실행자로서의 경계지대로 나아가고 있었다. 이 연구는 예측 불가능성이라는 특성을 가진 신종감염병으로부터 오는 두려운 상황 속에서 경험하는 어린이집 원장의 목소리를 생생하게 담은 연구 자료의 분석과정을 통해, 이들이 체험한 코로나-19 속 달라진 어린이집 일상의 의미를 종합적으로 고찰해보고자 하였다. 나아가 본 연구를 통해 어린이집 원장의 위기 대응 및 정부 지원에 대한 시사점을 제공할 것이다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the meanings of changed daily life in Covid-19 from the perception of the directors of child care centers in Korea. Five persons who direct child care center in B-city participated in this study. In order to collect data interview was used. Texts were collected through 3 times individual interview. Collected data were analyzed using Giorgi’ phenomenological approach. Research analysis revealed two categories and nine concepts. Major results of this study were as follows: First, directors experienced striated space from the changed life caused by Covid-19. The striated spaces are from closed child care centers, two faces of extension of childcare center closing and emergency child care, difficulty in budgeting, locking down daily lives in a face mask, inflexible regulation, and continuous newcomer’s adaptation period. Second, directors were making borderlands of changed life in Covid-19. In striated spaces, they were making a borderland of a role as a healthcare manager and as planner and practitioner of child care philosophy and curriculum. This study is significant in terms of analyzing data from vivid voices of child care directors who experienced unpredictable new infectious disease and examining meanings of changed daily life in Covid-19 comprehensively. This study may suggest some implications for crisis response and government support for directors of child care centers.
