This research is intended to look at Buddhist topography among Korean religious topography and find ways to enhance the social influence of Buddhism and strengthen its capabilities. Therefore, the research examines the historical development of Korean religion and Buddhist topography. This consideration will be centered on the relationship between religion and religion and relationship between religion and society (the world) . The main features of Korean religious topography in the 2000s are first of all, the rise of conflict between religions and, between religion and society. Secondly, the polarization of the religious market by neo-liberalism, and last, the rise of the New Age movement, which is one of the effects of post-modernism. According to the 2015 religious census, the number of Buddhists decreased by 3.1 million from 10 years ago. In the perspective of the integration with the religion market, causes of the decrease are as follows. Firstly, it was a dependent variable from the religiously biased political policies from the previous governments which was the natural result. Second, Buddhist contributions to the secular areas in education, medicine, the media, law were unsatisfactory in the moving with the times. Third, I believe that Buddhism as a system religion stuck to the framework of tradition and failed to satisfy the needs and thirst of the world, which led to the shift to faith that is not part of the temple, or non-institutional dissociation. Therefore, for future Buddhism, first, the self-purification ability and innovation ability inside Buddhism will be the main driving force to enhance future Buddhism. Second, an alternative to the 20th and 30th Generation is clearly necessary. Third, the establishment and practice of Buddhist thought based on accurate Buddhist teaching, the strengthening of social influence through the multi-faceted civic movement, and the positive acceptance of the New Age movement are the needed factors. However the future of Buddhism is not all discouraging. Buddhism basically has a strong aspect of open pluralistic character rather than exclusive nature. This characteristics of Buddhism has the potential to be the most suitable religion of future society. In addition, in the Fourth Industrial Revolution in which human alienation phenomenon can rise, Buddhism can play a big role in seeking eternal happiness through healing.
