본 연구에서는 종립학교의 종교교육의 일환으로서 생명윤리교육을 어떻게 시행할 수 있는지에 대한 전반적인 방향성과 구체적인 방법을 제시하기 위한 목적을 지니고 있다. 특히 청소년기 종교교육에 있어서 생명윤리교육은 (1) 바른 생명관과 생명의 소중함에 대한 인식을 갖도록 하며 (2) 건강한 자아정체성과 자기존중감을 갖도록 하며 (3) 과학기술, 특히 생명과학기술이 초래하는 각종 문제점에 대한 민감성과 비판의식을 길러주어야 한다. 이러한 생명윤리 교육의 목적을 달성하기 위해서는 무엇보다 교육과정을 잘 개발하는 것이 중요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 생명윤리교육에 적용할 수 있는 일반적인 교육 이론을 소개하였고, 청소년을 대상으로 하는 “생명과 책임의 성교육 교육과정”의 예를 들어 문제중심학습 모형(PBL)을 생명윤리교육에 응용할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 아울러 종교교육 내에서의 생명윤리교육이 본연의 성과를 거두기 위해서는 궁극적으로 영성교육과의 협력이 있어야 할 것으로 본다.
This study has a purpose of proposing the overall direction and specific methods on how the bioethics education can be enforced as a part of the religious education of the religious schools. Especially the bioethics education in adolescence education should (1) have awareness on the importance of life and proper life perspective and (2) should have a healthy-ego-identity and self-esteem and (3) the awareness and sensitivity to criticize various problems caused by the science technology, especially the life science technology, should be nurtured. In order to achieve the goal of bioethics education, it is important to well develop the curriculum. Therefore in this study, the general education theory that can be applied to the bioethics education was introduced, and with an example of “sexuality education course of life and responsibility” targeting the adolescents, a problem based learning model that can be applied to the bioethics education was proposed. In addition, in order for the bioethics education within the religious education to achieve the inherent outcome, ultimately, cooperation should be made with the spiritual education.
