이 논문의 목적은 현대사회의 성윤리 해석의 문제를 살펴보고 그 한계점을 찾아서 사회의 성원 들이 수용할 수 있는 성의 윤리적 기준을 설정하여 성행위의 허용 가능한 조건들이 무엇인지를 제안하는 것이다. 이 글은 통일사상적 시각에서 논의된다는 전제에서 성윤리의 기준을 제시하였다. 성윤리기준을 도출하기 위해서 성이 무엇인가? 그리고 남녀의 성을 표상하는 인체기관의 대표기관인 성기관의 존재목적이 무엇인가를 성찰하였다. 현대사회의 성윤리는 ‘출산, 쾌락, 사랑’의 세 가지 성적 가치를 중심하고 사회구성원들이 지키고 따라갈 수 있는 ‘책임과 존중’의 성윤리 기준을 제시하면서 동성애든지 혼전 성이든지 서로 ‘책임과 존중’이 있으면 어떠한 성행위나 성관계라도 도덕적으로 허용 가능하다는 입장에 있다. 그러나 ‘책임과 존중’만을 강조할 때 생기는 한계점들이 있어서 그 한계를 극복할 수 있는 대안으로서 새로운 성윤리기준을 모색하였다. 인간의 성은 원존재의 확대된 자아로서, 인간의 성기관의 구조와 그 작용으로 보아 성기관의 존재목적인 ‘사랑완성, 자녀출산, 혈통보존, 양심작용’의 네 가지의 보편적 가치를 이루어야 한다는 윤리적 기준을 도출하게 되었다. 사회구성원들은 성기관의 존재목적, 네 가지, ‘사랑완성, 자녀출산, 혈통보존, 양심작용’을 이루기 위해 혼전순결과 혼후 정절을 토대로 성행위나 성관계에 대한 성윤리적 기준을 중심한 성윤리 태도를 가져야한다고 논의하였다. 성윤리기준을 중심한 성윤리적 태도는 개개인의 인격 안에서 사랑, 생명, 혈통, 양심작용이 균형, 조화, 통일로서 구현하는 것이다.
The main purpose of this paper is to propose standards of sexual ethics that people can agree with and health sexual attitudes and behavior that people can accept universally. In order to resolve the problems of the existing sexual ethics, we should understand clearly the limitations of the existing sexual ethics. This paper focuses on the standards of sexual ethics from the perspective of unification thought. We should search for a standard of sexual ethics and understand the correct meaning of human sexuality and the purposes of the human sexual organs in order to have healthy sexual behavior. The present points of view of sexual ethics focus on the values of childbirth, sexual pleasure, and love, stressing responsibility and respect to one’s sexual partners. From the perspective of the existing sexual ethics, if people have responsibility and respect for their sexual partners, homosexual, premarital and any other kind of sexual intercourse can be acceptable. However, even though these sexual ethics emphasize responsibility and respect to one’s sexual partners, sexual problems such as sexual disease and unwanted pregnancies have appeared in our society. Therefore, we should explore ways to have healthy and peaceful sexual lives, and we should propose an alternative for resolving sexual problems. This paper proposes new standards of sexual ethics in order to guide people’s steps in the path of righteousness. The proposed purposes to be recognized as universal values for the human sexual organs are to realize the completion of conjugal love, to create children, to preserve lineage, and to operate of conscience. Accordingly, the standard for sexual ethics is the accomplishment of the four purposes of the human sexual organs. In order to solve the various sexual problems in our society, human beings should search for the balance, harmony, and unity of the human character based upon the above standards for sexual ethics.
