The 'seed' concept in Yogacara Buddhism, and 'archetypy' in Jung's analytic psychology are compared Based upon the epistemology of the Yogacara Buddhism, namely, the structure of eight conciousness level and the Alaya-vijinana, We considered the seed theory by the definition, preperties, relations to the causality, the Karma, and the permeation. Jung's collective conciousness is briefly cummarized, and the concepts, properties, functions and relations to dreams of the archetype are reviewed. the seed theory is characreristic in conection with the harmonious union of non-self and Karmic recycle of Buddhism, and religious practices, while the archetype is more concerned whith dream, arts, religious rituals, legendary and mythology for rational understanding of their symbolism. The 'seed' and 'archetype' thepories are similar in their concern with the deep conciousness, but their methods and goals are different.
