본 논문은 7차 교육과정 속에서 유교의 종교교육을 어떻게 운영할 것인가의 문제에 중점을 두고 서술하였다. 가장 먼저 유교에 대한 오해를 제거하기 위해 유교에 대한 올바른 방향을 제시했다. 그리고 유교의 입장에서 종교교육의 운영방안을 제시했다. 유교는 완인(完人)을 교육목표로 하고 있기 때문에 종교교육도 또한 완인을 추구하는 방향으로 운영되어야 한다. 또한 종교교육을 담당할 교사가 없는 지금의 현실에서 진정한 종교교육을 달성하기 위해서는 종교교육 전담교사가 양성되어야 함을 논하였다. 그리고 현행의 교과과정 또한 종교교육의 특성을 충분히 살릴 수 있도록 개선되어야 하며, 가정교육을 중요하게 여기는 유교의 측면에서 본다면 유소아기부터 종교적 심성을 배양할 수 있도록 편성되어야 한다. 이와 같은 것들을 실현하기 위해서는 종교교육만으로 이루어지는 것이 아니라 여러 교과목들과 종합적 인식을 통하여 이루어져야 한다.
This thesis is about how to perform the religious education of Confucianism in the 7th curriculum. First, it offers the right direction to remove misunderstanding on confucianism. And it also offers the method to perform the religious education from the confucian view point. The religious education should be performed to pursue the completion of human because the goal of confucian education is completion of human. This thesis also deals with the training of teachers in exclusive charge to accomplish the genuine r eligious education on the present situation without teachers in charge. Moreover, the current curriculum should be improved to make the most advantage of the religious education and performed to cultivate religious our religious mind from the early childhood with the confucian view point that regards home education as important. To achieve these things, it should be performed on the basis of comprehensive underst anding as well as the religious education.
