The Pandemic is currently underway. Masks and disposable products used to survive the Pandemic are pushing the Earth back into pain. Under the name of the prevention of epidemics, the voices of the socially disadvantaged, including the disabled and courier workers, are being buried. The pandemic disaster is worsening inequality. Religion has pampered the socially disadvantaged and offered hope. However, the appearance of religion in the Pandemic era shows the lacks of religious care and religious publicness. What is worse, religion in the Pandemic era is analyzed as a factor that hinders peaceful coexistence in Korean society. Religion’s uncooperative attitude towards the prevention of epidemics is making religion considered as something that lacks communication skills, which is the result of a closed religion. The thought system and the practice of Korean new religion have features consistent with the concept of ‘publicness.’ Hence, the ideological background of Daesoon Jinrihoe’s publicness will be found in the coexistence of Jeungsan’s ‘Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth(Cheonji-gongsa)’ and the resolution of grievances for mutual beneficence(Haewon Sangsaeng), and the practice of Daesoon Jinrihoe’s publicness will be examined through the Three Major works. In the Pandemic era, when religious activities through gathering are restricted, the religious education for the cultivation of publicness will be also discussed.
