본 연구는 중학교 시기 부모의 자율성지지, 학업참여 및 학업성취도의 종단적 인과관계를 다층 잠재성장모형을 적용하여 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 한국아동․청소년패널조사 중학교 1학년 패널 2,590명이며 남학생은 1,405명, 여학생은 1,185명이다. 연구결과, 학생수준에서 중학교 시기 부모의 자율성지지 초깃값은 학업참여의 초깃값과 변화율, 학업성취도 초깃값에 영향을 미쳤으며, 부모의 자율성지지 변화율은 학업참여 변화율과 학업성취도 변화율에 영향을 미쳤다. 학업참여 초깃값은 학업성취도의 초깃값과 변화율에, 학업참여 변화율은 학업성취도 변화율에 영향을 미쳤다. 학교수준에서 중학교 시기 부모의 자율성지지 초깃값은 학업참여 초깃값에, 자율성지지 변화율은 학업참여 변화율에 영향을 미쳤다. 학업참여 초깃값은 학업성취도 초깃값에, 학업참여 변화율은 학업성취도 변화율에 영향을 미쳤다. 학생수준에서 부모의 자율성지지 초깃값은 학업참여 초깃값과 변화율을 매개로 학업성취도 초깃값과 변화율에 영향을 미쳤다. 부모의 자율성지지 변화율은 학업참여 변화율을 매개로 학업성취도 변화율에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 학교수준에서 부모의 자율성지지 초깃값은 학업참여 초깃값을 매개로 학업성취도 초깃값에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 중학교 시기 부모의 자율성지지와 학업참여 및 학업성취도의 종단적 인과관계를 다층 잠재성장모형으로 확장하여 연구하였다는 데 의의가 있다고 본다.
The study analyzes the longitudinal causal relationship among parental autonomy support, academic engagement, and academic achievement applying two-level growth curve modeling. The subjects of this study were 2,590 middle school students in the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. At the student level, the initial value and the rate of change of parental autonomy support affected the initial value and the rate of change in academic engagement and achievement. The initial value and the rate of change in academic engagement affected the initial value and the rate of change in academic achievement. At the school level, the initial value and the rate of change of parental autonomy support affected the initial value and the rate of change of autonomy support. The initial value and the rate of change affected the initial value and the rate of change in academic achievement. At the student and school level, the initial value of parental autonomy support affected academic achievement through the mediation of academic engagement. This study extends the longitudinal causal relationship among parental autonomy support, academic engagement, and academic achievement in middle school using two-level growth curve modeling.
