본 연구는 중·고등학생이 인지하는 부모-자녀 간의 의사소통 유형이 학교생활 적응에 미치는 영향에서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울시 중·고등학생 442명을 대상으로 부모-자녀 의사소통 유형, 학교생활 적응, 자기효능감의 세 가지 영역에 대해 질문하는 자기 보고식 설문을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 중학생과 고등학생 모두 부모-자녀 의사소통 유형이 개방형일 때 자기효능감이 학교생활 적응에 부분매개하여 학교생활 적응에서 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 또한, 부모- 자녀 의사소통 유형이 문제형일 경우 자기효능감이 학교생활 적응을 완전매개하여 부정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 중·고등학생의 학교생활 적응 향상을 위한 부모의 의사소통 유형과 자녀의 자기효능감의 매개효과에 대해 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between parent-child communication styles and adolescents’ school adjustment. The results of the study indicated both middle and high school students were more likely to adjust to schools when their fathers engaged in positive communication with their children. Regarding the mediation effect, there was partial/fully mediating effects of self-efficacy in the relationship between parent-child communication styles and school adjustments among adolescents. There was little difference in the mediation effect in the negative relationship of parent-children communication styles on school adjustments among both middle and high school students. Implications of enhancing self-efficacy in relation to parent-child communication styles for adolescents’ positive school adjustment were presented.
