PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to provide modern educational implications by analyzing and examining ‘Seonghyeongisang(聖賢氣象)’, the educational human image of Confucianism, and examining its educational meaning.
CONTENTS First, the process from King Yo.Sun(堯舜) to Zhuzi(朱子) is reviewed for the historical background of the formation of the concept of ‘Seong(聖)’ and the emergence of the theory of ‘Seonghyeongisang.’ Second, the characteristics of the characters discussed in Seonghyeongisang are sorted by dividing them into those who are incorporated into the characters and those who are not. Third, the specific aspects of ‘Seonghyeongisang’ are reinterpreted and understood as ‘a sense of mission that aims for the world’, ‘a consciousness of composition that promotes self-maturity’, and ‘a consciousness of self that fuses subjectivity and objectivity.’
RESULTS If we understand ‘Seonghyeongisang’ as a model human image, we can make the problem of the gap between individual education and community education more difficult through a sense of mission, and through a sense of composition, we can renew our attitude toward life and education, and through self-consciousness You can check the educational attitude to prepare for realistic difficulties or excessive competition.
