The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderated mediation model in the relationship between temperamental positive emotionality, negative urgency, depression and mindfulness. To verify this, temperamental positive emotionality, negative urgency, depression, and mindfulness were measured in 211 adults. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, negative urgency partially mediated the relationship between temperamental positive emotionality and depression. Second, mindfulness significantly moderated the effect of negative urgency on depression. Finally, the mediating effect of negative urgency on the relationship between temperamental positive emotionality and depression was significantly moderated by mindfulness. The results of this study are meaningful in that the path through which depression occurs according to temperamental positive emotionality and the effect of negative urgency on depression decreases as the level of mindfulness increases.
