본 연구는 경계선 지적 기능을 가진 아동의 문제행동에 대한 특성과 형태를 살펴보고 부모가 이를 어떻게 인식하고 대처하는지, 그에 따른 지원 요구는 무엇인지 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경계선 지적 기능을 가진 자녀를 둔 어머니들을 대상으로 심층면담이 진행되었으며 연구 결과는 최종 4개 대범주와 10개 하위범주로 다음과 같이 정리되었다: 1) 자녀의 주요 특성 및 어려움, 2) 문제행동에 대한 부모와 주변인의 대처와 반응, 3) 부모의 고민과 어려움, 4) 요구 및 제언. 본 연구를 통해 경계선 지적 기능을 가진 자녀를 둔 부모의 어려움과 경계선 지적 기능을 가진 아동의 문제행동에 대한 교육과 지원을 위한 과제 및 해결방안 등이 논의되었으며 관련한 후속 연구의 필요성을 확인하였다.
This study sought to examine the characteristics and forms of problem behavior in children with borderline intelligence and explore how parents can learn to recognize and deal with it. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with mothers of children with borderline intelligence, and the results were finally organized into 4 major categories and 10 subcategories as follows: 1) Characteristics and difficulties of the child, 2) Problem behavior Coping and reaction of parents and people around them, 3) Parents' concerns and difficulties, 4) Requests and suggestions. Through this study, the difficulties faced by parents of children with borderline intelligence as well as challenges and solutions for education and support for children with borderline intelligence were discussed, and the need for related follow-up research was confirmed.
