The purpose of this study was to understand the effect of group art therapy constituted by body make -up on the physical satisfaction and life satisfaction of institutionalized elderly women. The subjects of the study were 10 elderly women aged 65 or older living in an L-age nursing home located in K-si, Gyeonggi-Province, and a randomized controlled trial(RCT) assignment was made up of five experimental groups and five control groups. A total of 12 studies were conducted from November 2018 to January 2019, excluding pre- and post-mortem examinations. The research tools were - the physical satisfaction scale and life satisfaction scale were used and qualitatively analyzed through a step-by-step analysis of the group art therapy constituted by body-make up of the experimental group. In sum, the results of this study were as follows. First, group art therapy constituted by body make-up showed significant effects on the physical satisfaction of institutionalized elderly women. Second, group art therapy constituted by body make-up showed a significant effect on the life satisfaction level of institutionalized elderly women. Third, the early, mid-term I, medium-term II, and closing process of the program showed that the collective art therapy constituted by body make-up spurred positive changes in the physical satisfaction and life satisfaction of institutionalized elderly women.
