As a single case involving art therapy for a woman who was in a traffic accident caused by a drunk driver, this study aimed to examine the psychological changes the woman experienced after the incident, which has also seriously affected her family since it occurred. For this study, 20 art therapy interventions were conducted for 90 minutes once or twice a week from June 20, 2020 to September 2 2020; the participant was in her mid-50s a car accident involving hit-and-run 2 drunk driver 20 years ago. The data collected for the study include activity records, the participant’s writing materials, verbatim records, and photographs of works. Based on the investigation of these records, this study involved creating two categories based on understanding a single case and meaning formation. First, the following step-wise psychological changes of art treatment experiences occurred: Identity recognition through self-expression, formation of self-respect and self-efficacy, and change in self-directed wishes. Second, the following psychological changes occurred in art works: change of aggressive attitude, change in relations, and change of desire. As a result, the art therapy has reduced the psychological impact on a woman who was the victim of a drunk driving accident and allowed her to experience a sense of psychological stability and positive self-expression. Based on the results of this study and future studies were discussed.
