This study focused on how an online group art therapy program affects the meaning of life and psychological well-being of Japanese middle-aged married migrant women. The participants were 24 Japanese middle-aged married migrant women who were members of Multicultural Family Support Center located in S city. The participants were randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group with 12 members in each. The experimental group took part in the 60-minute online therapy sessions twice per week for a total of 12 sessions from October 1, 2021, to November 12, 2021. The Meaning of Life Scale and Psychological Well-Being Scale were used as measuring tools. I analyzed the data under the Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon signed ranks test. According to the result, first, an Online Group Art Therapy Program has a statistically meaningful effect on the meaning of life. Second, this program has statistical significance with respect to the psychological well-being of participants. Third, in the process of each program, experimental group members acknowledge themselves as middle-aged women and showed the change in psychological well-being while integrating the meaning of life in the past and present. The research result shows that an online group art therapy program can improve the meaning of life and psychological well-being of Japanese middle-aged married migrant women. Based on the result, the significance and limitations of this study, and suggestions for future research were discussed.
