This study conducted a self-narrative picture book creation program based on narrative therapy theory for mothers raising children, and explored the experiences and meanings of the creation process and self-reflection in the mothers' lives. The participants were three mothers in their 30s and 50s raising a 9-year-old child. The field texts were collected through a total of 12 interviews and a picture book creation process that began on July 28, 2022 and ended on October 28, 2022, and included participants' recordings, materials, and works. The analysis of the data was conducted according to the narrative inquiry procedure and was divided into the mother's picture book creation experience and self-reflection experience, considering the three-dimensional narrative inquiry space. The mothers' experiences of creating picture books were interpreted as “reflecting in the mirror,” “talking with picture book grammar,” and “telling stories with pictures. Self-reflection through picture book creation was interpreted as , , , and . This study confirms that picture book creation has value and meaning as a tool for exploring and reflecting on the participants' own experiences of becoming mothers. Based on these findings, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
