The purpose of this study is to investigate the infliuence of the teacher-child interaction on young children’s self-regulation. This study is based on the survey carried out targeting(for) 136 teachers in charge of 5-year-old young children and 267 5-year-old young children in 17 child care and education institution located in Gyeonggi-do. The data was analyzed by using correlations analysis and multiple regression analysis. Study outcome according to study subjects is as follows. First, the relationship between teacher-child interaction and young children’s self-regulation showed statistically significant correlation overall. Second, both emotional and behavioral interactions between teachers and young children among the subfactors for assessing relationship between teacher-child interaction were confirmed as the factors having positive effect on the young children’s cognitive and emotional and overall self-regulation. In conclusion, this investigation revealed that the higher level of interaction between the teachers and children was realized, the more positive effects were shown on the self-regulation of the children. Thus, teachers should try to achieve the positive and heart warming interactions with the children.
