The Journal of Korean Teacher Education is quarterly published by The Korean Society for the Study of Teacher Education(KSSTE), the research association founded for improvement of teacher education study. There are other institutions established for the similar aim, development of educational administration research. Therefore, it is crucial to differentiate the identity of KSSTE from others, and analyzing research trends of the journal allows us to clarify the identity. This study aimed to look back on the research trend of the journal, especially using semantic network analysis that is allowing new and broaden perspective in reviewing research trends. Furthermore, we analyzed research topics by the regime and reasoned inductively the relation between research topics and educational policies of each regime. The conclusion of the study is as follows. It seems that the research topics of the journal have reflected educational issues at each period, and the proportion of theoretical-practical research was also increasing as the participation rate of field teachers increased recently. Based on the results of this study, suggestions were made for establishing the identity of The Korean Society for the Study of Teacher Education(KSSTE).
