This research aims to present future research directions for parent counseling by conducing an exploratory analysis on domestic studies on parent counseling of preschool teachers. For this, From 1990 to 2020, an analysis was conducted on total of 41 papers with 23 degree papers and 18 academic journals as the main words for ‘parental counseling’, ‘parent interview’, ‘early childhood teacher’, childcare teacher’. As a result of analysis, first, research has increased since 2010 and has increased rapidly since 2015. The research method, it was found that there were many quantitative studies using questionnaire, and in qualitative studies, interview techniques were mainly used. Second, the research topics are the current status and actual conditions, cognitive research, difficulty-related research, demand research, and effectiveness research. and other studies have divided it into six categories. Among them, it was found that demand studies were most, followed by recognition studies, followed by difficulty-related studies. Based on the analysis results, we hope that follow-up researchers who want to study parent counseling will be used as basic data to enhance their overall understanding of this topic and establish research. In addition, it is expected that it will help teacher education and parent education support for parent counseling in the early childhood educational field.
