이 연구는 초기 성인기에 해당되는 남녀 성인의 자기개념 명확성, 자기침묵과 정서표현 양가성, 외로움 간의 구조적 관계를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 자기개념 명확성, 자기침묵, 정서표현 양가성, 외로움에 대한 설문을 진행하였으며, 초기 성인 308명의 자료를 SPSS 22.0과 AMOS 22.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 각 변인 간의 상관관계가 모두 유의미하였다. 둘째, 자기개념 명확성은 외로움에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자기개념 명확성이 외로움에 미치는 영향에서 자기침묵의 매개효과는 유의미하지 않았다. 넷째, 자기개념 명확성이 외로움에 미치는 영향에서 정서표현 양가성의 매개효과가 유의미하였다. 다섯째, 자기개념 명확성이 외로움에 미치는 영향에서 자기침묵과 정서표현 양가성의 이중매개 효과가 유의미하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 외로움을 호소하는 초기 성인에 대한 심리사회적 지원에서 자기(self)와 관련된 심리적 역량을 탐색하고 개입할 필요성을 강조하고, 추후 연구에 대한 함의를 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationship among self-concept clarity, silencing the self, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and loneliness on young adults. To achieve this, an online survey was conducted and analyzed 308 young adults data. Results of the study were as follows: First, self-concept clarity had significantly negative impacts on loneliness, silencing the self and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness respectively. Second, self-concept clarity was found to have a direct effect on loneliness. Third, the mediating effect of silencing the self was not significant in the effect of self-concept clarity on loneliness. Fourth, the mediating effect of ambivalence over emotional expressiveness was significant in the effect of self-concept clarity on loneliness. Fifth, the double mediating effect of silencing the self and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness was significant in the effect of self-concept clarity on loneliness. Based on these research results, the need to explore the strategies of intervention for psychological competencies related to the self in psychosocial support for early adults who complain of loneliness was emphasized, and implications for future research were discussed.
