연구목적: 본 연구는 Q방법론을 통해 대학생들의 전공변경 동기의 유형을 확인하고 각 유형별 특성을 분석하고자 하였다. 연구방법: B광역시에 소재한 대학교에 재학 중인 학생 중 전공변경 경험이 있는 대학생 33명을 P표본으로 선정하였다. 연구참여자들은 최종 선정된 35개의 Q표본 진술문을 정규분포에 모두 분류하였다. 수집된 자료는 PQMethod 2.35를 사용하여 요인분석을 하였고 최종 23명의 자료가 분석되었다. 연구결과: 대학생들의 전공변경 동기는 5가지 유형으로 분류할 수 있었다. 제1유형은 ‘대학입학 후 진로탐색형’, 제2유형은 ‘불안 극복 진로 재설계형’, 제3유형은 ‘전공변경 계획형’, 제4유형은 ‘내적가치 기반 진로개척형’, 제5유형은 ‘실제적 취업추구형’으로 나타났다. 결론: 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 유형별 특성을 살펴보고, 각 유형에 따른 구체적인 진로개입방법을 제시하고, 대학과 학과 차원의 개입방안에 대해서도 제안하였다.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the types of motivations for major change among college students using the Q-methodology and analyze the characteristics of each type. Methods: A total of 33 college students enrolled at universities in B Metropolitan City were selected as the P sample. They classified 35 Q statements into a normal distribution. The collected data were analyzed through factor analysis using PQMethod 2.35. Results: College students’ major changes motivation was classified into five types. The five types are as follows: 1) Career Exploration After College Admission 2) Career Redesign to Overcome Anxiety 3) Planned Major Change 4) Intrinsic Value-Based Career Pioneer 5) Practical Employment Pursuit Conclusions: Based on these research findings, the study examines the characteristics of each type, provides specific career intervention methods for each type. additionally, it proposes intervention strategies at the university and departmental levels.
