본 연구는 지역에 기반을 둔 다양한 복지기관들에게 군인가족을 이해하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위 하여 육군 직업 군인 배우자 605명을 대상으로 가족의 주거, 경제, 가족관계 및 사회적 지원망, 배우자 의 군인직업 특성에 대한 인식 및 복지요구도를 분석하였다. 연구결과 연구대상 군인가족은 이사가 잦 고, 가족원들과의 동거비율이 낮고 거주지와 거주시설만족도가 낮다. 또한 주택마련과 부모부양비 및 노 후자금준비에 대한 경제적 어려움을 높이 인식한다. 그러나 군인직업에 대한 전반적인 태도는 긍정적이 며, 배우자 직업에 대한 만족도와 자부심도 높으나 사회적 고립감이 높다. 가족관계에서는 배우자와 가 족원들간의 활동에 대한 요구가 높으며, 경제문제상담, 자녀건강 및 영양/주거상담, 자녀양육상담, 문화 센터, 노후설계, 가족문화활동 등에 대한 요구가 높다. 이러한 특성들은 배우자의 계급과 거주지역, 자녀 유무에 따라 차이가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이상의 결과를 기초로 군인가족을 위한 사회적 지원프로그램 을 제안하였다.
The purpose of the study is to describe and analyse the current characteristics of the Korean Army families to develop family support programs for enhancing their wellbeing. The samples of the survey were 605 wives of Korean Army families. Based on the previous research, demographic characteristics, individual and social networks, family economic situations, attitude toward the spouse's job, couple relations, and their need for the social welfare were analyzed. The result showed that the partners have very positive attitude and pride toward their partner's job, while they showed high level of social isolation because of lacking social network in their neighborhood. Their attitude about living environment and perceptions for the characteristics of their partner's job were varied according to their living region and partner's position. Strong need for time together with family members were found. Also, there were the strong needs for the programs of financial management and father-child relationship, as well as the need for the better quality of their living environment to improve their wellbeing of life.
