본 연구의 목적은 1980년대 말부터 한국에 널리 보급되고 있는 해결중심치료와 사회구성주의 이론과의 연관성을 파악함으로서 좀더 해결중심 치료의 철학과 가정, 관점, 접근기술을 깊이 이해하는데 있다. 구체적인 연구목적은 1)가족치료 이론발전의 시대적 특성을 고찰하고, 2) 20세기말에 가족치료 이론발전에 기여한 사회구성주의의 주요관점을 파악하고, 3) 해결중심치료의 접근전략과 사회구성주의 주요개념과의 연결성을 고찰하는데 있다. 연구방법은 문헌연구이며, 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 관련저서와 연구논문을 고찰하려고 한다.
This article describes a conceptual relationship and a developmental connections between the points of view of the social constructionism and the solution-focused family therapy. The writer finds that the solution-focused therapy and social constructionism have similar and common philosophy. Definitions of truth, and multiple realities(problems, successes, strengths, and solutions), and human nature(strengths and resources) are also similar. Both theories emphasize the construction of meaning in the context of community and solution building, and the use of language in the helping or therapeutic process. Emphasis is also placed on the collaborative partner relationship with clients. Both regard the client as expert, emphasize flexibility, and draw on client strengths, and take solutions as co-constructions. The two theories are closely related in their assumptions, perspectives, and in conceiving of the role of the therapist, the problems, and solutions, and strategies and skills.
