This study was conducted for 20 persons in total, It consisted of 10 persons from an
experimental group and 10 persons from a control group to verify the effect of
abdominal obesity management including aroma therapy on blood and eating patterns
from 21st June 2010 to 23rd October 2010. Before the experiment, both groups
listened to the purpose of this study and answered the questionnaire and received
serum test. For the experimental group, aroma massage, inhalation method, exercise
therapy, diet therapy and behavior modification therapy were implemented, and for the
control group, exercise therapy, diet therapy and behavior modification therapy were
implemented, and test as the same contents of a preliminary inspection was
implemented aftor 6 weeks. Tater For general items, the identification of physical
measurements, and satisfaction of the program, χ2-test and t-test were conducted
while dietary habit, physical measurements, and serum level between two groups was
analyzed through repeated measures ANOVA. The analyzed result is summarized as
follows.
The experimental group of abdominal obesity management including aroma therapy
made a difference from control group for a change of total cholesterol, high-density
cholesterol, low-density cholesterol, triglycerides, but the difference was not meaningful.
Both the experimental group and the control group of abdominal obesity management includingaroma therapy had an decreasing effect on caloric intake ratio , but there was no distinct
difference, only showing a slight difference in dietary habit(p<.05).
