The purpose of this study was to analyze how the thinking styles of elementary students with learning disabilities (LD) differ from those of their peers. To obtain the research purpose, two research questions were generated. First, does the thinking styles of elementary students with LD differ from those of their peers? Second, is there any difference between their grades from 4th through 6th?
The 18 elementary students with LD and 18 their normal peers were selected in the same schools by matching their grades (4, 5, 6 respectively). The researcher developed a Thinking Style Test based upon the Sternberg-Wagner Self-Assessment Inventory\'s questions for each style. The Chronbach Alpha on the Test was .96.
As the research results, first, the elementary students with LD was significantly lower in executive, judicial, hierarchic, oligarchic, local, liberal style than their peers. Second, there was no difference among grades in the thinking styles of the elementary students with LD. Based upon these results, some issues were discussed.
