본 연구는 혼전 임신으로 결혼했다가 이혼하는 과정을 경험한 부부들이 결혼 전 임신을 알고 난 후부터 결혼과정 및 이혼에 이르기까지 어떠한 경험을 하고 있는지 탐색하기 위해 이루어졌다. 연구참여자는 경기도지역의 가정법원에서 2016년 1월부터 2017년 6월까지 가사상담위원인 연구자에게 의뢰되어 이혼 상담을 받은 6쌍의 부부로 선정하였다. 각 사례의 매 회기 상담내용을 녹취한 후 전사한 축어록과 상담활동자료 등을 자료로 수집하였다. 본 연구에서는 참여자들이 서술한 경험과 행위에 대한 인식을 연구자가 의미화 할 수 있는 Smith & Osborn(2003)의 해석현상학적 방법으로 분석하였다. 자료 분석 결과 5개의 대주제와 17개의 소주제가 도출되었다. 혼전임신 부부는 상담 과정에서 결혼전부터 결혼과정, 이혼과정에 이르기까지 가족생활주기에 따른 발달과업과 위기들에 대해 언급하는 바, 연구 결과는 가족치료실천에서 혼전임신 부부들을 위한 예방적인 차원의 개입이 필요함을 시사할 수 있다.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the experience of premarital pregnancy couples in divorce counseling. Methods: The process of divorce counseling covers the marital cycle and developmental crises, from pre-marriage to determination of divorce. Data were collected over an eighteen-month period from 6 couples who were interviewed during their 10th session of counseling. The data were analyzed using the interpretive phenomenological method. Results: A total of 5 large themes and 16 small themes with components were derived: “motivation of marriage,” “unbalance and struggle of the couple system,” “over-dependency and differentiation in the relationship of family of origin,” “influential systems on parents’ role,” and “discovery of coping skills and strengths during divorce counseling.” Conclusions: The researchers discussed the results within the context of premarital pregnancy couples in divorce counseling, attending to developmental crises and struggles in the family cycle. The results can contribute to the development of prevention strategies in family therapy practices.
