This study aims to explore the characteristics of Korean students' well-being based on the results
of PISA (Program for International Students Assessment) 2015 with OECD participant countries.
Student perceptions of Well-being have not been given due attention in science class at Korean
school. This study proposed that school science education has overemphasized cognitive aspects
including knowledge gain and problem solving, which has resulted in the low perception of
students' well-being. The analysis of PISA 2015 has identified distinctive characteristics of Korean
students' well-being. This finding may served as a meaningful platform when discussing goals of
future school science Korea.
