This study investigated reading comprehension monitoring skill in children with Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD). Twelve children with ADHD and twelve IQ and age-matched
typically developing children participated in this study. All children were first to second grader in
elementary schools. For the reading comprehension monitoring task, the children read two stories that
contained ten false statements or inconsistencies. And then, they were asked to detect these erroneous
sentences and to correct of inconsistences. The result showed that the total number of correct
responses was significantly lower in children with ADHD relative to the peers. These results
suggested that children with ADHD appeared to experience difficulty in reading comprehension
monitoring when they read a complicated and long text.
