This paper focuses on defining the role of cyber tutor to computer-mediated communication (CMC) to provide new contexts for individually guided staff development in facilitating this process. CMC with an assistance of cyber tutor makes it possible for students not only to transmit, but also to share and create knowledge and information, that is, the authentic merit of cyber education. Cyber-tutor as well as the systematically designed course have a powerful effect on this student learning process. Cyber tutor has a role to bridge between the instuctional content and the learner. Based on the framework of the role of cyber-tutor, that is, instructional, managerial and social, this study observes the role of cyber-tutor in two courses of e-learning program for the period of 16 weeks. As a result, the following roles are suggested; ∙ prepare and provide offline-meetings ∙ lead the cyber relationship among students ∙ send private messages regularly ∙ record the every message from individual students ∙ record the student\'s academic progress regularly ∙ set up the schedule of communication, such as an office hour or chatting ∙ give a feedback on prompt ∙ use all kinds of communication channels, such as, telephone, fax, etc. Finally, this study suggests the educational program for training the cyber tutor as a professional job.
