The attention to higher education of individuals with disabilities has been increased.
However, there is no concern for successful university life of individuals with
disabilities. The study was conducted to understand and to investigate the practical
support methods of students with visual impairment who register university. For the
purpose, the group interviews of the students with visual impairment were carried
out. The participants were ten students with visual impairment. The group interview
was carried out four times and the raw data were analyzed by qualitative method.
The results of qualitative analysis were as follows: 1) to realize the right and
responsibility on oneself 2) to manage learning one’s studies: try and despair 3)
human relationships: because of you 4) self-improvement and leisure activities 5)
career planing and job preparation 6) the support of university life. The practical
support systems to students with visual impairment for successful university life
were suggested in the results and discussion.
