This study aims to examine the mediating role of job knowledge in the relationship between self-efficacy
and job satisfaction among personal assistants who provide Personal Assistance Service(PAS) to people
with disabilities. To achieve a research purpose, a survey was conducted upon personal assistants in Seoul
and collected data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 and AMOS 7.0. The results of this study are as follows.
The self-efficacy has statistically significant effect on job satisfaction as mediated by job knowledge. Also,
the self-efficacy is directly related to job satisfaction. To demonstrate the medicating effect of job knowledge,
the Sobel test was applied. The effect of self-efficacy on job satisfaction is significantly mediated by the
job knowledge. Therefore, this study shows that job knowledge has partial mediation effect on the
relationship between the self-efficacy and job satisfaction. Through this research, political implication are
suggested for improving the quality of Personal Assistance Service in Seoul.
