This study purposes to analyze a result of class using the data with
regard to the cultural recognition in the family or friend relationship
among the students from Korea, Japan and China. The characteristics of
the class were shown in the two categories as follow: First, the class was
conducted with the diversity of cultural contents, which shows the common
ground and difference in terms of the culture, in order to raise the attitude
of generosity and consideration and then to prepare the ground for mutual
understating. Second, the class focused to the human relationship and
human habit as the cultural factors which raise the connectivity with the
daily life among the students and enhance their social adaptability. The
concrete effects on the class were seen as follows:
First, after the class, the students’ interest and/or attention on Japan and
China were enhanced. The enhancement of interest and attention on the
nations would be a psychological ground for extending the information on the two nations and solving the common problems between the ones.
Second, the education boundary on the diversity of cultural contents was
extended from the traditional culture and industry to the daily life
regarding human relationship and human habit.
Third, the viewpoint on East Asia was changed. In other words,
generated was the recognition that the East Asia is not only a cultural
area with common cultures but also a geographical area where a variety of
cultures can be developed.
Through these above results, this class is thought to show some effects
in presenting a new direction with regard to a class for the cultural
diversity in the East Asia as well as to open the students’ minds for
understanding mutually the three nations of Korea, China and Japan.
