Self-advocacy skill is an essential skill for all students with disabilities to control of their own lives
and express their request appropriately. Therefore more research are required for self-advocacy skill
program based on Korean culture context. The purpose of this research was to investigate studies
that examined the self-advocacy program in Korea. Based upon the criteria identified in this study, a
total of 19 articles were included. Once selected, each study was analyzed in terms of following
variables: (a) the definition of self-advocacy, (b) participants, (c) research settings, (d) intervention
program, (e) measurement. As results, most of studies showed uncertain definition regarding self
-advocacy skill and most participants were elementary students with mild disabilities. Based upon the
findings of this study, implications for future study were provided.
