Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of adaptation experience of immigrant marriage women for developing intervention to improve adaptation of immigrant marriage women and multicultural families. Methods: Data were collected by individual in-depth interviews from 7 immigrant marriage women. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's descriptive phenomenology. Results: The results included 36 re-statements, 23 themes, 12 theme clusters, and 5 categories were deduced. The five categories were 'desolation of having no one to rely upon', 'being discontinued daily life from relations', 'gloom of being forced to reality', 'going out into the world', and 'being reborn as a active main force of life.' Conclusion: Identifying the meaning of adaptation experience of immigrant marriage women can be used for developing intervention to facilitate adaptation of multiciltural families. Based on these results, further researches should be planned for developing and identifying the effects of systemic education programs in according to residential period, presence of children, and homeland of immigrant marriage women.
