The Purpose of this study was to investigate perception on music education
course of pre-service early childhood teacher training curriculum. Subjects of this
study were 116 pre-service early childhood teachers. To investigate content of music
education, teaching method of music education and the pre-service teacher's
perception on music activity, a questionnaire survey was conducted.
The results of this study are as follows. First, pre-service teachers respond that
they have known over mid–level about musical concepts. Second, pre-service
teachers respond that they have learned about singing, playing musical instruments,
and making educational material. Third, pre-service teachers respond that the course
has focused on music education theory and mock lesson. Fourth, pre-service teachers
respond that teacher’s musical talent and expertise have influence on early children’s
music activities. As a result of this study, further educational implications and
suggestions were discussed.
