본 연구는 예비유아교사로서 유아교육과 대학생들의 자아존중감 수준이 전공만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 제주도에 소재한 3년제 대학 유아교 육과에 재학 중인 1학년부터 3학년 학생 208명을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 예비유아교사 의 자아존중감 및 전공만족도 측정은 설문지를 사용하여 이루어졌다. 자아존중감 측정도구 는 Rosenberg가 개발한 검사 도구를 전병제(1974)가 번안한 것을 사용하였고, 전공만족도 검사 도구는 Illinois 대학에서 개발한 Program Evaluation Survey를 하혜숙(1999)이 수정, 보완한 도구를 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 평균과 표준편차 분석을 기초로 t- 검증과 일원변 량분석 및 사후검증으로 Scheffé 검증 절차를 통해 진행되었다. 연구결과 예비유아교사로 서 유아교육과 대학생들의 자아존중감 수준은 높은 것으로 나타났고 특히 인문계고등학교 를 졸업한 대학생들의 자아존중감 수준이 비인문계고등학교를 졸업한 학생에 비해 더 높 은 것으로 나타났다. 학과만족도의 경우 대체로 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타난 반면 학년이 올라갈수록 학과만족도 수준은 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 높은 자아존중감 수 준을 가진 학생들의 학과만족도가 그렇지 않은 학생들에 비해 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나 타났다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of self-esteem on department satisfaction of early childhood education students as pre-service early childhood teachers. The subject of this study were 208 early childhood education students who are at the grade of 1, 2, 3 from H college in J city. In order to measure self-esteem, we used instrument had been modified and translated by Jeon(1974). Also we used Program Evaluation Survey(devised by university of Illinois) had been modified and translated by Ha(1999). The collected data were treated with the SPSS WIN(ver 16.0) program, and t-test, ANOVA and Scheff′e test was conducted to test the effects. The Research findings and discussions were as follows. First, we found the level of self-esteem of early childhood education students as pre-service early childhood teachers is high. And we found the level of self-esteem of students from liberal high School is higher than the level of self-esteem of students from vocational High School. Second, We found early childhood education students as pre-service early childhood teachers ware satisfied with their department. But the level of their department satisfaction was dropped depending on rising grades. Finally, we found the effect of self-esteem on department satisfaction of early childhood education students as s pre-service early childhood teacher was significant.
