본 연구는 노인의 종교성에 따른 심리적 안정감 및 죽음태도 차이를 밝히고자 하는 것이 다.이를 위하여 서울,경기,인천 지역에 거주하고 있는 남녀 노인 250명을 대상으로 설문을 통해 조사를 실시하였으며 배부된 설문지 250부 중 총 209부가 통계분석에 사용되었다.수집 된 자료는 우선,인구학적 변인에 대해서 기술 분석을 실시하였으며,종교성에 따라 심리적 안정과 죽음태도에 어떠한 영향을 끼치는지 상관분석 및 t-검증을 실시하였다.분석 결과,종 교성과 심리적 안정감 및 죽음태도의 변인이 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다.조사대상 자의 종교성이 높을수록 심리적 안정감이 높고,죽음에 대한 태도가 긍정적인 경향을 보였다. 반면,종교성이 낮을수록 죽음에 대한 태도가 부정적인 경향을 보였다.이러한 결과는 우리나 라 노인들에게 심리적 안정감 및 긍정적인 죽음 태도를 제공하기 위한 변인으로서 종교성이 고려될 필요가 있음을 시사한다.
