This study was performed to present guidelines that helping to develop putting skill by analyzing shot put
technique in elementary, middle, and high school female player. To accomplish these purposes, we filmed
shot-putting motion by using four cameras in the 41st National Junior Sports Festival and the 93rd National
Sports Festival. 3-dimensional motion analysis on shot-putting was fulfilled on best record(trial) by best player
in elementary, middle, high school female player. The results were as follow :
Movement time in delivery phase was shorter numerical order such as elementary, middle, high school player,
and the rotation angle difference of shoulder and hip, maximum velocity of center of gravity, maximum
extension angular velocity of right knee joint, maximum angular velocity of pelvis were greater numerical
order such as elementary, middle, high school player.
High school female player in shot trajectory had trend closer to midline of target direction than other players.
In case of elementary school player, she showed very slower than other players in angular velocity of pelvis
and shoulder, but extensional angular velocity of elbow was faster than other players.
Consequently, elementary school female player showed that she can’t use effectively her body segments
sequentially in shot-putting. Therefore, coaches should make train elementary school female players to use
body segments effectively and sequentially in shot-putting.
