The purpose of this study is to evaluate drama therapy and how effective it
is in patients with schizophrenia. To do this, I took advantage of the story as
the main technique because the story reflects itself as a projection tool is
comfortable and has the advantage of being easily accessible. Specifically, I
put the 6 Part Story Making of Mooli Lahad at the center of my research, and
it was utilized as a therapeutic process itself, as well as a diagnostic tool. First
each participant carrying the story was diagnosed. Based on this, as we
progress through the story making, the subjects fit for the story(roles), it was
extended to the drama operations.
With the results of this study, it was possible to determine the impact of
drama therapy on schizophrenia patients it was possible to see that the story
making technique, using 6 Part story making, is very useful. There were
suspicions that drama operations would cause a confusion between reality
and fiction, but participants in the study could clearly distinct between
reality and fiction. Since they were playing their roles in a self-made story,
they distinguished their roles, situations and feelings accurately and they
were empowered with skills they can use in real life. Drama therapy made
patients with schizophrenia overcome inner conflicts and strengthen their
commitment so that they can cope with more flexibility in real life. In
addition to, the analyzed six-piece story with the BASIC Ph, it was found
that it is an useful tool to diagnose the present problems of the participants.
When you extend it to drama, diagnosis for participants have shown clearly
and more detailed.
In the study it was clinically proven that story making is a suitable
treatment for patients with schizophrenia.
