This study was conducted as a qualitative case study in order to design a manual for class consulting, which is emerging as a new alternative for teacher education, and to analyze the effects of the manual in class consulting. For this study, we drafted a manual by restructuring the outcomes of previous research on the analysis of social studies class, and designed a social studies class consulting manual by reflecting advice from social studies class specialists working as the members of the Elementary Social Studies Class Support Group in 2010. The developed manual was applied as a class consulting tool to an actual case of consulting and its effects were analyzed. With regard to the significant effects of the manual, conclusions were drawn as follows.
