According to the change to the global society, the life and relations of the youth has extended internationally. Thus, the youth needs capabilities as the global citizens who live together with various cultures. The global citizenship standard of Korean adolescents is, however, lower than other OECDnations and others. This study tried to find implications for the development of Korea’s educational policy for the global citizenship, by analysis on the education trends in the UK, Japan, and the US. The results showed that the UK includes the global citizenship education in subjects related with the civic education, and Japan with the social studies. Also the UK and Japan had began with NGOs for developmental aaps, and the central government (the UK:bjepartment for Education and Skills; Japan:b Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology) supported it. For the education policy for the global citizenship, the UK is centered in partnership of the public education and social organizations, Japan in NGOthan the public education, and the US in the social studies. Korea should promote the global citizenship through curricula in/out of the school, and need to construct the partnership with specialized organizations in domestic and foreign, too.
