The purpose of this study is to find the effect of self-esteem and parents' rearing attitudes on
career attitude maturity in order to provide materials of a suitable counseling for university
students. In this study, We had analyzed collected data to verify the relationship among
variables. The results are as follows; First, career attitude maturity has relations with
self-esteem, parents' rearing attitudes. Conviction was correlated with every factor of
self-esteem. Readiness and independence are positive related with parents' rearing attitudes.
Second, self-esteem had positive effect on career attitude maturity; especially on conviction.
Third, parents' autonomous and achieving rearing attitudes had meaningful positive affected
career attitude maturity. The father's autonomous attitudes exerted influence on purpose,
conviction, independence, and the mother's autonomous attitude has an effect on decision,
purpose, independence. The above results have made a significant contribution to provide the
directions for suitable career counseling.
