본 연구는 만 2세 자녀를 둔 어머니의 추가 출산계획에 영향을 미치는 요인을 부모의 자녀관과 부부특성 중심으로 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 육아정책연구소의 한국아동패널 연구 2010년(3차년도) 자료를 활용하여, 총 1,366가구를 대상으로 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0을 사용하여 기술통계, 교차분석, t-test, Pearson의 적률상관분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 패널 아동의 출생순위가 셋째 이상보다 첫째와 둘째일 경우, 아동 성별이 남아보다 여아일 경우, 그리고 부모가 이상적으로 생각하는 자녀수가 많을수록, 부의 정서적인 자녀가치 수준이 높을수록, 모의 결혼만족 정도가 높을수록 어머니가 추가 출산을 계획하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 추가 출산계획을 세우는데 있어서 부모가 가지고 있는 자녀가치관과 부부특성 등 개인․심리적인 요인이 중요하게 고려되어야 함을 제시하고, 나아가 우리나라의 저출산 현상을 극복할 수 있는 실증적인 시사점을 제공한다는데 의의가 있다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate factors affecting the decisions of mothers who have 2 year old children regarding future pregnancies. The analysis focused on parents' values on children and characteristics of couples. The data was gathered from 1,366 families that were selected by Panel Study on Korean Children(PSKC) of Korea Institute of Child Care and Education(KICCE) in 2010(wave 3). To analyze the data, descriptive statistics, chi-sqare test, t-test, Pearson's correlation and logistic regression analysis was performed using SPSS 18.0. Major findings can be summarized as follows. First, it was found that birth order, sex of the panel children, father's emotional values on children and marital satisfaction affect the likelihood of future pregnancies. These results suggest that should be considered parents' values on children and marital relationships to determine planing of family. Furthermore, this study provides practical information helpful for overcoming Korea's low birth rate.
