The purpose of this study is to diagnose the state of teacher’s awareness of their rights, and to find out problems which make them dejected. The result of this study will help improve the environment of teaching profession, and will also be the fundamental materials for the study of teachers’ rights. The subject group in this study consisted of a total of 466 of school teachers from city and rural primary and secondary schools in Korea. The instrument used are ⑴24 of Multiple-choice Type Scales for measuring the teachers' awareness of their rights, and ⑵ questionair consisted of five items in order to know their situations. The results of this study are as follows. 1. The level of teachers’ awarencess of their right is below half that of their expectation. 2. In their awareness of their right, thelevel of awareness of their rights of living is lower than any other rights, and that becomes the major fact of their dissatisfaction. 3. In their rights of teachers are dissatisfied with the system of rating of services, and think that they are not guaranteed from educational activities. 4. In ttheir rights of living, techers are dissatisfied with the amount of salary, not with the system of it. And this dissatisfaction increases with aging. 5. In their rights of social standing, teachers think that teaching profession is rather stable occupation, but that they are not protected from unjust activities which do harm to their social standing.
