Creativity in one of the most highly valued of human qualities. It is also one of the most elusive to systematic inquiry. Quest ions without end have been asked and re-asked. What is the nature of the creative process? Can creative potential be identified before creative achievement? What is the effect of educational environment on creative development" What is the relationship between creativity and intelligence? The present paper reviews creativity research within the cognitive and personological investigate orientations on two parameters of creativity as they affect the individual: a) in tellectual factors and cognitive styles associated with creativity, b) creativity as related/ unrelated to intelligence. In recent years, creativity and its relationship with intelligence and achievement has been one of the more intensively investigated. areas of research in education and psychology . The central question seems to be whether creativity and intelligence are two distinctive constructs, or whether creativity is nothing more than a special aspect or form of intelligence. The relationship between verbal creativity and general intelligence is discussed to illustrate the need for conceptual reorganization as well as correlational data.
